Gmail Drive - Use Gmail's 10GB Storage as Online Backup Service


Gmail drive is a tiny but very useful application which allows Gmail users to utilize their gmail storage as backup service. When you install this little application on your computer, it will add a new drive under My Computer. In Gmail drive, you can create new folders and can store files simply by copy-paste from other drives to Gmail drive. As Gmail is offering 10GB storage, you can use this 10GB to backup you files.





When you install and use Gmail drive for first time you are required to provide your gmail account information so that Gmail Drive can access your gmail account storage. After you are logged in, simple dag n drop files and folders to your drive and those files will be uploaded to your gmail account immediately. Small files such as mp3 audio files, pictures or documents are uploaded within no time however large files may take some time to complete. Files that you copy in your Gmail drive are uploaded in your Gmail account and appears in inbox;


Since this application is not developed by Google officially, it may not work as expected if the Google make some changes in Gmail service however you files would still be safe on your Gmail storage and accessble directly through you Gmail account.
