When Dropbox came to know about Google Drive, they started offering additional free space to store documents, files, photos, videos etc. Earlier, Dropbox was giving 2GB of free space at the time of signup and 250MB more space/referral.

But now, after the launch of Google Drive, Dropbox has doubled the free storage per referral i.e. now you get 500MB per referral and can refer up to 32 people to Dropbox. Which means if you refer 32 people to Dropbox, you will be rewarded 16GB free storage, add the previous 2GB that you got at the time of signup and you get 18GB for free.
Even after 18GB you can get more space with Dropbox by performing tasks they mention in your account. Dropbox pro users (who pay for services) get 1GB per referral and get 32GB free storage. Moreover, If you are an old user and using Dropbox for last few years, you might feel you stuck sometime with Dropbox, so don't forget to install the latest version of Dropbox that supports auto-upgrading.
